Vanguard Business School, Bangalore - Summer Internship Report 2012

Vanguard Business School has completed its very first Summer Internship Process. The truly encouraging part of the process for a first time business school involves the nature of summer projects and profiles offered to our students as well as some of the big names that visited our campus for the Summer Internship Process. We are proud to share that we achieved 100 percent placement of all students in less than a month and a half of the process. 

For a total of 38 students in the first batch, in all, a total of 30 companies participated in the process and made 48 offers. Companies participating in the Summers Process included big name corporates as well as start-ups and niche firms that offered very interesting profiles. Companies who made offers to students at Vanguard Business School include Abbott India, eBay Inc, Fractal Analytics Pvt. Ltd., Tata Motors, Exide Industries Ltd., 24/7 Inc, Accusonics Inc., V2 Solutions Inc., Tata Sky, Xplore 360, Finideas, HDB Financial Services, Cummins India, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co. Ltd. and Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Ltd.

While a large majority of the roles offered were in the Marketing and Business Development function, there were also a lot of offers made in Supply Chain and Operations, Data Analytics, Finance, and HR functions. The locations for the internships was largely restricted to the Metro cities with Summer projects being largely based out of the cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune. However Finideas offered roles based in Surat and there is an Agartala based profile offered by Mini Box Office. Among certain niche profiles offered to students include the Hyderabad based manufacturing firms Deccan Coach Builders Pvt. Ltd. and Shanti Boilers & Pressure Vessels Pvt. Ltd. who have offered three students International Business Development profiles. Pune based online book library Tender Leaves Books Pvt. Ltd. has offered profiles to plan and execute an institutional tie-up with Pune based Hospitals.

The most encouraging trend was the string of Data analytics profiles offered by companies like Fractal Analytics, 24/7 Inc and V2 Solutions Inc.. Mumbai based V2 Solutions Inc. has also offered HR profiles, while Value Pitch Inc. offered data analytics role focussed on Social Media Strategy for their Clients.

IT Major L&T Infotech Pvt. Ltd. and Insurance majors ICICI Prudential Life and TATA AIA offered roles in HR and Operations. Bangalore based HR Solution Services provider Xplore360 has offered Marketing and Business Development profiles. Tata Sky has offered a corporate sales role that will be based out of Delhi. HCL Infosystems Ltd. has also offered a Kolkata based marketing profile. Pune Based Engineering Firm Accusonics Inc. has offered a finance role dealing reduction of operational costs for their firm.

Comparison with Other New B-Schools for Summer Internships 2012
