Summer Internship Report 2013-14
Vanguard Business School is proud to present the Summer Internship Report for its third batch. The completion of summer placement by placing 100% of the batch for the Class of 2013-15 is a testimony of our robust process and rigor in academics and emphasis on relevant management education. The participation by first time recruiters across diverse sectors reaffirms the faith reposed by the industry on the institute. The vision and dream of our directors has definitely been in line with the current corporate needs. This definitely prompts us to believe that the philosophy with which the institute was born was worth pursuing.
The Summer Placement season was spread over about two months to ensure that various functional roles across diverse sectors and industries are offered to all our students. This is primarily because the institution believes that internship is an opportunity to decide one’s true calling.
The summer placements for the PGP batch of 2013-15 witnessed participation from 20 companies. The 60-participant from the batch picked up summer internship roles in diverse sectors such as Private Equity, Telecom, NBFC, Advertising & Media, Data Analytics, Retail, Social Media, Market Research, Manufacturing, Consulting, Finance and IT/ITeS . The total number offered to the batch was 103. Therefore the batch definitely had enormous option to choose from a basket of opportunities. The students will be interning for a period of 3 months, starting 15th April, 2014.
The feather on the cap was having Everstone Capital for this placement season, who offered finance profile.
The majority of the batch choose to intern at sales and marketing function, with most of the batch opting for companies across various industries. The favorite was telecom major Airtel which recruited interns for its Own Retail Business. Similarly Titan offered roles in Marketing, HR and Sales in their Retail Division.
Retail giants who are into modern trade like HiDesign, Pantaloons and Max Fashion offered marketing, operations and HR. We were really proud to announce that Max Fashion offered the niche profile of Visual Merchandising.
For the ones who were inclined towards data analytics companies like [24]/7 inc, Markelytics and Feedback Consulting offered really valuable projects in the area of market research. Apart from core market research companies, organizations like Launchpad LLC and Cholamandalam offered analytics profile.
One of the pioneers in the field of Advertising – McCann Erickson offered internship for two of our students.
The new kid in the management block is Digital Marketing and we are lucky to have it on our list, especially some of the market leaders. ODigMa and echoVME offered digital marketing profile.
Schneider Electric, a France-based MNC offered HR profile at their Bangalore office.
Most of the profiles offered were for Bangalore and Chennai. However HiDesign offered their HR profile in Puducherry, Cholamandalam offered one Market research project at Vizag and Titan had one marketing internship position at Hubli.
The successful placement of the complete batch should definitely be attributed to faith bestowed upon us by our recruiters.
