Summer Internship Report 2014-15
Vanguard Business School is proud to present the Summer Internship Report for its fourth batch right after successful completion of 100% placements for the third consecutive time. The completion of summer placement by placing 100% of the batch for the Class of 2014-16 is not only a testimony of our robust process and rigor in academics and emphasis on relevant management education, but also a tribute to the growing clout in the corporate world on the professionalism displayed by our alumni. The participation by first time recruiters across diverse sectors reaffirms the faith reposed by the industry on the institute. The vision and dream of our directors has definitely been in line with the current corporate needs. This definitely prompts us to believe that the philosophy with which the institute was born was worth pursuing. Most of our past recruiters, impressed by the quality of work done by our Alumni has returned with bigger and more challenging roles to our interns
The Summer Placement season was spread over about two months to ensure that various functional roles across diverse sectors and industries are offered to all our students. This is primarily because the institution believes that internship is an opportunity to decide one’s true calling.
The summer placements for the PGP batch of 2014-16 witnessed participation from 23 companies. The 32-participant from the batch picked up summer internship roles in diverse sectors such as Product Research Analysis, Telecom, NBFC, Advertising & Media, Retail, Social Media, Market Research, Consulting and Business Development. The total number offered to the batch was 52. Therefore the batch definitely had enormous option to choose from a basket of opportunities. The students will be interning for a period of 2 and half months, starting 15th April, 2015.
The feather on the cap was having Britannia India for this placement season, who offered marketing profile with the focus on Modern Trade
The majority of the batch choose to intern at sales and marketing function, with most of the batch opting for companies across various industries. The favourite was telecom major Airtel which recruited interns for its Own Retail Business. Also, CP Foods (with its flagship brand “Five Star Chickens” offered Business Development profile to our students
Retail giants Future Retail (Big Bazaar) and Marks & Spencer offered Marketing and Operations profiles to our students. We are really proud to announce that Britannia offered the niche profile of Marketing in Modern Trade.
For the ones who were inclined towards data analytics companies like Launchpad LLC, Cholamandalam, Delyver Retail and Feedback Consulting offered really valuable projects in the area of market research. Apart from these Launchpad LLC and Airtel offered analytics profile.
For those interested in Finance one of the market leader in vehicle finance, Toyota Financial Services India Ltd., offered a very interesting profile in the field of Finance and Accounts.
The new kid in the management block is Digital Marketing and we are lucky to have it on our list, Geek Creative Agency Pvt. Ltd., offered digital marketing profile.
Pioneer in the field of ERP software, Tally Solutions offered HR profile in their Bangalore Office.
USG Boral, a JV between US-based MNC, USG and Australia-based MNC Boral offered Sales profile at Bangalore office.
Most of the profiles offered were for Bangalore and Chennai. However CP Foods offered their Business Development profile in Hyderabad and Britannia India offered two Marketing projects at Kolkata
The successful placement of the complete batch should definitely be attributed to faith bestowed upon us by our recruiters.
